Hi my name is Kelly and I am a senior at King School in Stamford, CT. Over the course of my four years in high school, I have played varsity volleyball and varsity softball. King grants seniors the month of May to work on a “Senior Project” in which we have the time to work or volunteer for something we are passionate about. For my senior project, I chose to intern at Filling in the Blanks because I wanted to spend my free time giving back, supporting this generous charity, and help to feed children who are hungry on the weekends.
I will be continuing my educational journey at the University of Notre Dame, and I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunities I’ll have there.
My name is Kyle and I’m an 18 year old senior at New Canaan High School. I’m attending Elon University in North Carolina next fall. I play lacrosse at the high school and enjoy playing music and being outside. I am very excited to be able to intern at Filling in The Blanks because I’ve always enjoyed helping out the local community and giving back because I know how fortunate I am. To me food insecurity means that someone doesn’t have access to nutritious food on a multi daily basis. I feel that many people don’t recognize the commonality of food insecurity around Fairfield county and can’t wait to do my best to spread awareness and help to provide reliable access to the youth of the surrounding areas!
My name is Lauren and I am a student at New Canaan High School. This fall, I will be attending the University Of Alabama. I have played basketball at the high school all four years. I am a very active person and love to keep myself busy so I am looking forward to my internship working with Filling In The Blanks. Working here will be great because it will open my eyes to new opportunities and give me a working experience while helping others who struggle with hunger. Food insecurity to me means the inability to provide food to live out healthy lives. I am excited to be able to help this situation and spread awareness to food insecurities in our local areas.
